    13 March 2020

The University is continually monitoring the latest Public Health England and government advice on Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) when considering plans for the upcoming Congregations.  So that the University continues to meet its responsibility to staff, graduands and their guests, and the need to restrict social interaction, it has determined not to proceed with the in-person Congregation on Saturday 28 March. A brief Congregation to approve and confer degrees in absence only will now take place.

Those due to take their degrees on 28 March have the option to either graduate in absence, or to graduate in person at a later date (for which details will be made available in due course). If you wish to take your degree in absence, please confirm this with the College by 5pm on Thursday 19 March 2020.

We appreciate that many students and their guests will have been looking forward to graduating and will be disappointed not to be able to attend the ceremony in March.  We, as a College, were also very much looking forward to welcoming you back to Cambridge. The University has, however, given serious consideration to the welfare of our staff, graduands and their guests, and feels this is the right decision in the circumstances.

Information regarding any payments made will communicated by email next week, and we thank you for your patience in the meantime.

If you have any questions, please contact the College Administrator.
