Working with the New Hall Society, the College runs a number of events for our alumnae community throughout the year. The majority of events take place in Cambridge, but some are held in London and across the globe.

Our events are a great way for our alumnae to meet up with old friends and reacquaint with College life.

Due to current circumstances there may be changes to the events below.  Updates will be shown here and alumnae notified by email.

    Upcoming Events

Fellows' Lecture Series: To Dwell in a Shell with Dr Holly Corfield Carr

    3 February 2022, 18:30 - 19:30 GMT, Online

In The Poetics of Space, Gaston Bachelard daydreams of living alone. To live alone, he says, is to dwell in a shell and, in a shell, we can only live alone.

Dr Holly Corfield Carr, Research Fellow in English, reads new poems which explore the iridescent interiors of shells and consider the human, animal and mineral entanglements of solitude, survival and rest.

    New Hall Society International Day

Saturday 5 March 2022, 14:00 - 21:30 GMT, Murray Edwards College, Cambridge and Online

The annual New Hall Society International Day at Murray Edwards College celebrates the strong international presence of the College and its alumnae. Join fellow alumnae and current students for an evening of entertainment, unique speakers, gourmet food and great conversation.  This will be a hybrid event and the discussions will be live-streamed. We hope those of you who are unable to attend in person will join us online with other alumnae from around the world to reconnect with the College in a global celebration of women.

    Speakers will be announced shortly.

    International Women's Day, London

    Thursday 10 March 2022, 18:30 - 21:00 GMT, Wellcome Collection, London

In this event, we continue our discussions from the New Hall Society International Day event in Cambridge on The Future of Feminism.  College President, Dorothy Byrne, will be joined by a panel of speakers including Professor Lucy Delap, Fellow in History at Murray Edwards College.  As usual for our International Women's Day events, we will dedicate a portion of the evening for questions and discussion with our audience.

Booking for both our Cambridge and London International Women's Day events closes on Friday 18 February.

Please contact the Development Office to be sent the booking link.
