The Rosemary Murray Library is situated in the heart of the College and we are proud of the fact that we provide so much more than just books (although books are brilliant, of course!). We place a heavy emphasis on wellbeing and we organise a host of activities throughout the year to support students.
We are open 24 hours a day and there are plenty of desks available – many with views of the beautiful gardens and Fountain Court. In non-COVID times, we have blankets and cushions for students to use, so that you can study in comfort. At the moment, we are encouraging students to bring their own blankets instead.
The library primarily stocks books for Part I of the Tripos (first and some second year undergraduate courses) although we also have a selection of materials for Part II, clinical medics and postgraduates. Students can borrow up to 20 books at any one time.
The library has a selection of skulls and mini skeletons, which can be borrowed for a week at a time. We also have a collection of large scale models including a brain, torso, lower limb and upper arm. In addition, we have some real bones that students can use for reference.
Films and DVDs
The library has a large collection of DVDs that support the Tripos alongside films for general viewing.
Accessibility and support
We provide support and equipment to make the library more accessible. Library staff can provide a Click & Collect and a Scan & Deliver service. A book fetching service is also available for the upper floors. We can work with you to discuss any specific needs or requirements you might have in terms of study space or access to resources. If you need any assistance or advice, please contact us at email@example.com.
The faculty and departmental libraries are specialist libraries that stock subject-specific items. These libraries stock material for all undergraduate years as well as material for postgraduate study.
The library offers a host of wellbeing events and activities during Term, including craft sessions, wellbeing walks and yoga classes. Some of these are held in-person and others are available online. Take a look at our YouTube channel to find out more.
The library has a range of books on wellbeing, including texts on studying, insomnia, healthy eating, mindfulness and particular mental health issues.
