The College is very pleased to announce the election of a new Vice President, Professor Steve Morris. Steve is Professorial Fellow in Health Services Research at Murray Edwards, and RAND Professor of Health Services Research in the Department of Public Health and Primary Care in the Cambridge University School of Clinical Medicine.

In College, Steve sits on Council and takes on a range of other committee roles, while outside of his University and College responsibilities he is a magistrate, sitting in the Family Court in Cambridgeshire.

The role of the Vice President is to support the President to develop the College, to represent the Fellowship, and to deputise for the President when necessary. Steve said: ‘I’m really excited to take on this role. I’m very much looking forward to getting stuck in and helping showcase all the excellent work that goes on here, especially as we head into our 70th anniversary year’.

The College is very grateful indeed to our outgoing Vice President Rachel Polonsky, who supported the college through the pandemic and beyond, also ensuring the recruitment of the new President and the smooth handover between Presidents.

Murray Edwards President Dorothy Byrne said: ‘Steve brings great knowledge and experience in management in academic institutions and has been an active and enthusiastic member of the Governing Body and Council. The College community is very pleased to welcome him to the important role of Vice President.’
