Baroness Lawrence receives Honorary Doctorate

    Each year, the University of Cambridge celebrates the outstanding achievements of individuals at the Honorary Degree Congregation. This year, we were delighted Murray Edwards College hosted Baroness Lawrence of Clarendon when she received her Honorary Doctorate of Law on Wednesday 19 June 2019.

    Baroness Lawrence is a campaigner for racial justice, police reform and strengthened community relations. She founded the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust in memory of her son who was murdered in a racist attack in 1993.

    Speaking at the ceremony, Baroness Lawrence said: "I am honoured to receive an honorary degree from Cambridge University. It is both wonderful and humbling to be respected and well thought of by Murray Edwards College."
