The geometrical ordering of Rosa Lee’s paintings underpins a sensual, painterly surface of oil paint thickened with wax, and applied layer on layer in small skeins of colour. The layering in her work is achieved by spraying paint through paper doilies.

These works are about a desire to make paintings of unnecessary detail.
