Naomi Alexander is a British artist and picture conservator known for her evocative paintings of domestic interiors, landscapes, and architectural spaces. She studied at Hornsey College of Art (1954–59) and then spent two years as a postgraduate at the Central School of Arts and Crafts in London (1961–63), where she was taught by Alfred Daniels. Alexander’s work is deeply influenced by her extensive travels, drawing inspiration from sketches and watercolours created en plein air. Among her notable projects are a series of paintings depicting the attics of Chatsworth House, as well as works inspired by her time in Lithuania. In 2002, she was invited by the Europas Parkas Museum in Vilnius to be their first painter-in-residence. During her residency, she explored themes related to Jewish culture, reflecting her family's 18th-century Lithuanian heritage. More recently, Alexander has been developing a series of digital drawings focused on coercive control within marriage.
