Anne Bruce

Anne Bruce exhibited her work at Murray Edwards (then New Hall) in 1997.

Work by Anne Bruce

The inspiration for this painting came from the view in the valley behind the Burleighfield Arts Centre (near High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire) which the artist ran with her husband Patrick Reyntiens. One August evening she saw a field of wild orchids and ‘magical’ purple and yellow flowers. Returning the following morning to paint the scene, she discovered that the flowers had been eaten by cows. She then painted it from memory.
