Getting to know us

Choosing what and where you want to study is very important.  We offer a range of events, visits and activities to help you get to know more about us - and the University of Cambridge in general - so that you can feel confident when it comes to making an application.

College Open Days

Years 12 and 13 Saturday 9th September

Primarily for high achieving young women in Years 12 and 13.

  • Talk with academic Fellows and current students
  • Find out about the application process
  • Take a College tour
  • Get a feel for what life is like as a Cambridge student
Aiming high: She Talks Science conference Year 12  April

Our new one-day conference aimed at Year 12 students who are passionate about science.

  • Talk to inspiring women about their careers in science
  • Take part in academic seminars about topical science issues
  • Find out what top universities look for in applications
Applications Days Year 12 Spring and Summer

For school students in Year 12 who are seriously considering applications to Cambridge

  • Find out about the application process
  • Experience an academic taster session with an academic Fellow of the college
  • Participate in an interview workshop
  • Talk with undergraduates about student life at Cambridge
Aspiration Days Year 10 Spring and Summer

For school students in Year 10 who may aspire to university and who are beginning to consider the choices ahead

  • Hear about post-GCSE opportunities and options including A-level choices
  • See around a Cambridge college

 

Pathways to Success conference Year 12  July

A very popular overnight event for high achieving young women in Year 12.

  • Be informed and inspired through discussions and talks
  • Hear about the different perceptions of what ‘success’ looks like in the world of work
  • Make sense of academic and career choices
       
Exploration Days Year 11 Spring

For Year 11 students of all genders, this day aims to introduce the idea of extra-curricular reading for those aiming for top universities

  • Advice on making a competitive application
  • A tour of the college
  • A chance to talk with current undergraduates about life as a student
  • A session on exploring subject-specific extra-curricular reading.

Shadowing Scheme Year 12 January

Run in conjunction with Cambridge University Students' Union. Please see their website for more details.

Individual visits Any age January to October We would be delighted to accommodate visits from interested individuals (and supporters) across the year. Our Schools Liaison Officer, Catherine Rowley, a recent Cambridge graduate herself, will be happy to help you.
