Memory and Film Festival: Vertigo
Join us for a screening of Alfred Hitchcock's psychological thriller.
First film of the Festival is Vertigo (dir. Alfred Hitchcock, 1958). A former San Francisco police detective juggles wrestling with his personal demons and becoming obsessed with the hauntingly beautiful woman he has been hired to trail, who may be deeply disturbed.
The screening will be preceeded by short introduction, putting it in context and highlighting the interesting ways in which it portrays memory. These screenings are part of the interdisciplinary research project 'When Memories Come Alive'.
The screenings will be introduced by Dr Joseph Bitney and Prof Raphael Lyne.
