Dr Eric Jou
Biography
Eric is an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow in Medical Oncology at the Cambridge Deanery, and currently conducts research at CRUK Cambridge Institute and University of Cambridge Department of Oncology, alongside clinical work at Cambridge University Hospitals and Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trusts. He has research interests in tumour immunology, cancer immunotherapy and bone research, with peer-reviewed publications in renowned journals including Science and Science Immunology.
Eric graduated with Distinction in Medicine (MB BChir) from the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine, and was Exhibitioner and Foundation Scholar at Queens’ College, University of Cambridge. He completed his PhD in cancer immunology at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, as part of the Cambridge MB/PhD programme as Sir Peter Lachmann Fellow. He was competitively appointed onto the Academic Foundation Programme at Oxford where he conducted oncology clinical trials and laboratory research at the Early Phase Clinical Trials Unit, Department of Oncology and MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, and was elected Junior Research Fellow at Kellogg College, University of Oxford.
Eric is an avid educator, and was previously Supervisor in Medicine at five University of Cambridge Colleges teaching second year medical and natural sciences students the Pathology course, and currently mentors medical students in clinical and research settings.
