Murray Edwards College delighted to announce the election of Professor Stephen Morris as Vice-President

Stephen is the RAND Professor of Health Services Research at the University of Cambridge

As Vice-President, Steve will support the leadership and academic community of the College through to 30 September 2030.

Elected by the Governing Body of the College, Steve will work closely with the President, acting on her behalf when she is unavailable, overseeing Fellows' events, supporting the Fellowship, and leading the election processes for a President or Acting President when required.

Steve says:

Collegiality lies at the heart of a thriving academic community, and I look forward to supporting the President and working with Fellows to foster an open, inclusive and constructive environment. It is a privilege to take on this role, and I hope to contribute positively to the life and culture of the College.”

Stephen Morris is the RAND Professor of Health Services Research at the University of Cambridge. He is Co-Director of the Cambridge Centre for Health Services Research (CCHSR), and Deputy Director of NIHR ARC East of England. He completed his PhD in economics in 2002 and is an experienced health economist. He worked previously at University College London (where he was Professor of Health Economics), Brunel University London (Reader), Imperial College London (Senior lecturer) and City University London (Lecturer). He was elected to his current position at the University of Cambridge with effect from 1 June 2019.
