Dr Susan Imrie co-convenes inaugural forum

Wellbeing Forum: Preventative wellbeing in practice

Head of Wellbeing, Sooz Imrie

The Wellbeing Forum is a collaboration with Jesus College, Murray Edwards College and Lucy Cavendish College. It is co-convened by Dr Susan Imrie, Head of Wellbeing at Murray Edwards, whose work has been instrumental in shaping its focus on preventative approaches to student wellbeing.

The Wellbeing Forum will be a full-day event taking place on Wednesday 24 June 2026 at West Court, Jesus College. The theme for the Forum is ‘Preventative wellbeing in practice’.

Bringing together colleagues from across the collegiate University, other Higher Education institutions, and community organisations, the Forum will provide a platform to explore innovative approaches to student wellbeing. Participants will share learning, discuss emerging challenges, and strengthen collaboration across the sector. The event is open to all with an interest in student wellbeing within the University of Cambridge context.

The programme will include keynote speakers, panel discussions, presentations, and lightning talks, reflecting Dr Imrie’s commitment to translating wellbeing research into practical, preventative initiatives that can be embedded within collegiate environments.

Dr Imrie said, “My co-convenors and I were aware that so many interesting and innovative wellbeing initiatives exist within the collegiate University, but that there are few opportunities for these projects and ideas to be shared.  We hope that the forum will provide a supportive space for colleagues to discuss openly and honestly any learnings from their projects, and for participants to start reflecting on how insights from others’ initiatives could be applied in their own contexts.  We have an exciting and diverse line-up of speakers who focus on different aspects of wellbeing in varying roles across the university and colleges, and share a common goal of supporting student wellbeing through preventative approaches”.
