Dr Ruchi Sinnatamby honoured with Exceptional Contribution Award from the Royal College of Radiologists
The award is in recognition of her remarkable dedication to education, training, and the advancement of radiology

Dr Ruchi Sinnatamby, Murray Edwards Fellow since 1994 and former Vice President, has been honoured with the Exceptional Contribution Award from the Royal College of Radiologists in recognition of her remarkable dedication to education, training, and the advancement of radiology.

Dr Ruchira Sinnatamby is a Consultant Radiologist in Cambridge, specialising in breast imaging, and an Associate Professor and Clinical Sub-Dean at the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine. She has been an examiner for the College’s final radiology exam since 2010 and, as Vice Chair since 2021, has led important reforms, including examiner training and appraisal programmes that have strengthened quality, consistency, and excellence across the assessment process. Her commitment to education extends beyond exams: she has contributed extensively to the development of training curricula, pioneered breast radiology training nationally, and inspired hundreds of trainees through her lectures, teaching fellowships, and travelling professorship. A passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion, she also serves as a Cultural Ambassador within her Trust and regularly speaks on these issues internationally.
