Celebrating Student Success
The Rosemary Murray Scholarships
Congratulations to all our talented Murray Edwards students who achieved outstanding exam grades - first, or pass with distinction/merit – and therefore received awards of £400 from the Rosemary Murray Scholarship. This year over 70 high performing students qualified for the award. Congratulations also go to Megan Saitch who won the Dorothy Gabe Scholarship - an award of £400, made annually to the student with the best first from the Modern and Medieval Languages finalists.

"I was so happy to receive the Rosemary Murray Award. I’ve really enjoyed studying Plant Sciences at Cambridge, especially opportunities like the field trip to Borneo! The award will help support my Part III Earth Sciences Master's and I’m looking forward to coming back to Cambridge in the Autumn." Amy
“I'm incredibly grateful to have received the Rosemary Murray Award. Achieving a First in my Part IB Veterinary Medicine examinations was a proud moment for me and the result of a great deal of hard work, as well as the support of my College, tutors and friends. The award will help me invest in specialist textbooks and learning resources for my studies in pathology, as well as fund my membership of the British Society of Veterinary Pathology (BSVP) and attendance at its specialist talks throughout the year. I'm very grateful for the opportunities this support will provide as I continue my veterinary degree.” Grace
“I’m so happy and thankful to receive the Rosemary Murray award - I definitely could not have done it without some amazing supervisors! The prize will most likely go to supporting my studies and funding my next BUCS volleyball season. Many thanks to the college and the people who make this award possible.” Eloise
“I was delighted to graduate with a First in Economics, and receiving the Rosemary Murray Award makes this milestone even more meaningful. I am sincerely grateful to Murray Edwards College for the recognition. This award further encourages and supports me to study the MPhil in Economics and Data Science. I look forward to continuing building on what I have learned while contributing to the Cambridge community.” Yitian

I am greatly encouraged by this award, and it motivates me to keep working hard on my studies. I really appreciate the support from the College. “I am delighted to receive the Rosemary Murray Award. It is both a recognition of my academic efforts and an encouragement to keep exploring beyond the classroom. Inspired by Richard Feynman’s words, “What I cannot create, I do not understand,” I will use the prize money to purchase components and turn my biomedical engineering ideas into working prototypes.” Chuqing (Tracy)
“I am a 2nd year Geography student and receiving the Rosemary Murray Award for my academic achievements was such an exciting surprise! I jumped over 90 places in tripos this year which came with a lot of hard work in Easter term and seeing friends and sisters less than I would have liked. So far I have spent some of the money taking my sisters to see The Odyssey, getting some new shoes, and going out for drinks and ice cream with friends who I met through my subject from Churchill College!! The rest will probably be spent on a trip to Paris...: Amelia
