Applications Event - High achieving students considering Cambridge

For school students in years 11 & 12 who are seriously considering applications to Cambridge or other leading Russell Group universities.

2012 dates: Thursday 22nd March, Thursday 26th April, Thursday 28th June

Aspirations Event - Wider ability range and/or younger students aspiring to university

For school students in years 10 and 11 who may aspire to university and who are beginning to consider the choices ahead.

2012 dates: Wednesday 29th February, Thursday 19th April, Monday 9th July

Murray Edwards College’s Schools Liaison Officer, Anna Coyle, organises the school visits to the College. To book places for your school on any of these visits please e-mail her on slo@murrayedwards.cam.ac.uk.

Please note that places are limited.

Details of our larger college and university Open Days can be found on our Open Dayspage.

Teachers' Conference

On Wednesday 20th June 2012, Murray Edwards and Fitzwilliam Colleges host their annual conference for teachers and higher education advisors. This popular event is designed to explain the admissions procedures for the Colleges and the University as well as giving plenty of opportunity for informal discussion. For more information, download our invitation and the programme.

If you would like to book a place, please use this form.

Please note, the deadline for booking forms has now been extended until 18 May.

The Central Admissions Office also runs a free residential Teachers Conference, every other year. Click on this link for details.

Visits to Schools

To try to encourage as many gifted students to apply to Murray Edwards College as possible, our Schools Liaison Officer,  Anna Coyle, travels to schools to talk with students in years 10, 11, 12 or 13 about the benefits of higher education and attending top universities like Cambridge. These visits are tailored to the schools' needs, and can be arranged outside school hours so as not to disrupt lessons if preferred. If your school would be interested in receiving a visit from Anna, she is currently planning her programme for 2012 and would be happy to consider including your school. You can contact Anna to request a visit by e-mail, phone or post (contact details below).

As part of the University-wide Schools Liaison programme, Colleges are linked with specific Local Education Authorities to help develop links within those areas. In addition to the school visits programme, described above, Murray Edwards College is also developing links with schools and colleges in LEA's found in Derbyshire, Greater Manchester and the London borough of Haringey. More details can be found on the University's College area linksweb page.
