GP Services

In your own interest, the University and College require that you register with a Cambridge doctor as soon as you arrive. If you are already registered with the NHS you should take your medical card or obtain your NHS number for your previous surgery before registering. Most students at Murray Edwards are registered with the Huntingdon Road Surgery, just opposite the main entrance to College, but all of the following GP surgeries are within a short distance of College:

Out of Hours Emergency Service

CAMDOC provides an emergency out of hours GP service and can be contacted on 01223 464242 during evenings and weekends when your local GP surgery is closed.

If it is a medical emergency then contact the ambulance service, telephone 999 or attend the Accident & Emergency Department at Addenbrooke's hospital.

Dentists

If you wish to register with a dentist in Cambridge you can contact the University Dental Service 3 Trumpington Street (Tel. 01223 332860) or alternatively contact the college nurse for a list of other local dentists.

The Cambridge and Huntingdon Dental Helpline can also deal with enquiries about the availability of NHS dentists, plus any general queries regarding treatment, prices and emergency services. Tel. 01223 415126, Monday-Friday 8.30am-1pm (answering service outside these hours)

If you are not registered with a dentist and require emergency treatment please contact the Emergency Dental Service, Brooklands Health Centre, Seymour Street (Tel. 01223 723093, Monday-Friday).

If you require emergency treatment outside of normal surgery hours, please contact the Cambridgeshire Dental Emergency Service (Tel. 01223 471798) or NHS Direct (Tel. 0845 46 47)
