Guide and Information for Easter Term 2012 Going Down Form

Easter Full Term ends on Friday 15 June and term on Monday 25 June.

The Going Down form, linked to at the bottom of this page, must be completed by all undergraduates and returned by 5pm, Wednesday 23 May.  If, after completing the Going Down form, you need to amend your Going Down/Coming up dates, please contact the Accommodation Office at down-form@murrayedwards.cam.ac.uk.

A £10.00 administration charge will be incurred if:

  • The Accommodation Office does not receive notification of your going down date or your coming up date by the required deadline of Wednesday 23 May
  • You change your going down/coming up date after the required deadline date

Please Note: If you are returning before the 1 October you must inform the Accommodation Office (accommodation@murrayedwards.cam.ac.uk) before Friday 7 September.

If changes are unavoidable due to flight cancellations, etc. then appeals should be made, in writing, to the Rooms Tutor, Mrs Nicola Cavaleri (nch23@cam.ac.uk) with appropriate supporting documentation.

Buckingham House

As Buckingham House is a commercial building and forms part of the investment portfolio of the College, for this building students, without exception, should vacate the day following the end of Full Term (i.e. Saturday 16 June at midday). They may be placed elsewhere at the appropriate rent if a temporary room is available.  Students may occupy their Buckingham House rooms on the Sunday before the start of Full Term (i.e. Sunday 2 October 2011).  Anyone arriving before this date will be allocated a temporary room if one is available.

Rooms and Kitchens

All of your belongings must be cleared from your room. Please leave your room clean and tidy with College linen, if you have it, folded neatly on the bed and take bottles to the bottle bank, please. Extra charges may be incurred if your room is left in an unsatisfactory condition. Posters must be removed from all walls and notice boards. All kitchen cupboards must be cleared and padlocks removed on the day you vacate your room.

Refrigerators

There is no storage available for refrigerators and, if you have one, you must make your own arrangements to have yours removed from College before or at the same time you vacate your room. Any fridges not belonging to the College found in rooms, corridors or the bulk store, will be disposed of after the end of Term i.e. Monday 25 June.
