Examinations Guide IntroductionIt is a College requirement that every undergraduate should sit and pass a Tripos or Preliminary examination every year: in the rare cases (e.g. English) where there is no University examination set, a 'College Prelim' will be set instead. The main examination season runs over a period roughly from mid-May through the first ten days or so of June. Exam Enrolment is done online via CamSIS but please wait for notification from the Tutorial Office before you make your entry. Once your entry has been processed by your Director of Studies you will be able to verify your examination entry via CamSIS self-service. In the cases of Triposes that have no choices to make, enrolments are done automatically by the Board of Exams. After the corrections deadline, you will receive an Entry Confirmation Form (ECF) (usually at the beginning of Easter Term). This gives the exact dates, times and locations for each paper that you will be sitting and also your candidate number, which you will be required to enter on your script in place of your name. You will need this form for reference throughout the exam period, so keep it safe! The timetables for certain examinations fall outside the main examination period (e.g. Second M.B/Vet and Final M.B/Vet exams, Nat Sci Part III Experimental & Theoretical Physics, Engineering Part IIA and IIB). See the CUSU's Student Advice Service web pages for useful advice.
