Telephone Campaign 2013

Every September the College runs a telephone campaign, the aim of which is to maintain contact with our alumnae and present to them ways in which they can contribute to the future success of the College.

The calls that we make have three main purposes:

  • Have you moved? Got married? Started a new job? Accurate information is the key for us to maintain a strong relationship with our alumnae. The callers always take a few minutes to check the details we have are correct and to chat about what alumnae have been doing since leaving College.
  • We also like to make sure our alumnae know what is going on in College at the moment. The telephone campaign gives us the ideal opportunity to update you on key developments and upcoming events, and for you to ask us any questions you may have.
  • Financial support from alumnae is essential in helping us build for the College's future. The callers ask alumnae to support the College by making a contribution to one of our fundraising projects. Last year was our most successful ever, with over £150,000 being raised during the campaign.

The campaign also gives alumnae the chance to offer support in other ways, for example by offering careers advice or work experience opportunities to our students. Support of this kind is always appreciated, particularly in today's competitive employment market.

Student Callers

Each year we employ a team of current Murray Edwards students to work as callers during the campaign. Past experience has shown that many of the alumnae we call really enjoy chatting to a current student, hearing about what is happening in College today, and having the chance to relive their own experiences. Our callers also get a lot from the campaign and always enjoy hearing former students' stories of their time here.
