Orchard Court is the name of both the College's original accommodation building and the courtyard which its three sides creates. The building is comprised of the Wolfson, Nuffield and Spooner Wings, named after donors to the College during its first few decades.
Most Murray Edwards students have the option to live in College accommodation throughout their course: this is affordable and comfortable, and protection from year long commercial tenancies. Our purpose-built accommodation has all that a student might need, including bed, desk, wardrobe, shelving, sink unit, and sockets for telephone and a faster than broadband computer network. There are a number of rooms specially adapted for people with disabilities, with wheelchair access to almost all areas of the College via ramps and lifts. Communal facilities close to Old Block include the kitchens, bar, laundry and television/video room with cable TV. In addition, the JCR, at the top of H staircase, is a great place to relax, read the papers, drink coffee and surf using the wireless network.
In addition to accommodation, Orchard Court contains most of the College's administrative offices.
