Computing Facilities
Computing facilities, available to all current members of Murray Edwards College, can be found in the IT Resource Centre (ITRC) or the MCR Office (graduates only). Both rooms can be accessed 24 hours a day (except during scheduled downtime) and offer a variety of software including email, word-processing, spreadsheets, databases and teaching applications. These computers are networked to the Public Workstation Facility (PWF) and complement University-wide facilities run by the University Computing Service.
In addition, the College offers a wireless service in the Library, Bar, JCR, MCR and walkway (in addition to the unlimited wired network service in bedrooms). If you would like to use the wireless facility, download the Windows connection instructions (pdf) or the Apple connection instructions (pdf) here. The wireless service, in the College public areas, is free to current Murray Edwards College members.
Room Connections
All of the bedrooms on our main site have connections to the College network. These can be used, for a termly charge (incorporated into the Utilities section of the College bill), to connect your computer to the Internet and University and departmental facilities.
