Dr Ruchi Sinnatamby
Fellow and Director of Clinical Studies in Medicine Murray Edwards College Telephone: 01223 762225 ProfileRuchi Sinnatamby graduated from Cambridge University in 1988 and is an Associate Lecturer at the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine, a Fellow and Director of Studies in Clinical Medicine at Murray Edwards College, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Since 1999 Ruchi Sinnatamby has been a Consultant Radiologist in the Cambridge Breast Unit, and she is a Royal College of Radiologists’ Tutor to senior radiology trainees in Cambridge and Associate Programme Director for the training scheme. In the breast unit, she supervises the training of both junior radiologists and those subspecialising in breast imaging. Nationally, she is working with the Royal College of Radiologists Breast Group to co-ordinate and develop the provision of such training. She is also an examiner for the Royal College of Radiologists. Since 2004 she has developed and audited an innovative service for women, with indeterminate breast lesions, to undergo vacuum assisted needle excision biopsy, under local anaesthetic, as a minimally invasive alternative to surgical excision. Since 2007 she has been working with fellow breast oncologists to develop the provision of an ultrasound-guided service for planning breast radiotherapy. She has actively fundraised for the completion and equipment of the Cambridge Breast Cancer Research Unit. This included raising over £10,000 in 2008 by cycling from London to Paris. |
