Dr Paola FilippucciFellow and Director of Studies in Archaeology and Anthropology Murray Edwards College Telephone: 01223 762244 ProfilePaola Filippucci is the Director of Studies in Archaeology and Anthropology. Her current research focuses on war memory and commemoration in present-day Europe, with a particular focus on the First World War and on France. This research is currently conducted within the framework of an international and interdisciplinary E.U.-sponsored project entitled ‘Cultural Heritage and the Reconstruction of Identities after Conflict’ (CRIC). More broadly she studies the social and cultural construction of the past in contemporary societies and the anthropology of space, place and landscape. Her first degree is in archaeology and part of her research concerns the relationship between anthropology and archaeology. She also conducts archaeological excavations with No Man’s Land, a European group specialised in the archaeology of Great War battlefield sites. |
