Why is Murray Edwards College an inspirational venue?Cambridge is home to some spectacular architecture and Murray Edwards College is a vibrant, modern part of this; a grade II* listed building, set in beautiful landscaped gardens, which have recently been selected for inclusion in the "Good Gardens Guide". The meeting rooms are architect-designed, stylish and comfortable with excellent audio-visual equipment and ergonomically designed furniture (we recently won an award for having the most comfortable chairs of a Cambridge conference venue). Most of our meeting rooms have great natural light and the main rooms are air-conditioned. The Events and Catering Team are friendly, positive and experienced. We are happy to help with suggestions, be flexible when you need changes and provide assistance right from the start to ensure your event is an enjoyable and truly memorable experience. The main dining hall, known affectionately as " The Dome" was designed by Chamberlain, Powell and Bonn and completed in 1965. The innovative structure and use of materials forms a wonderful space that creates a fabulous atmosphere for dining and banqueting, which is truly unique. The large circular room has a domed ceiling and is home to many of the larger pieces of artwork, which make up the New Hall Art Collection: the most significant of its kind in Europe, with over 350 contemporary works by women artists on permanent display around the college |
