New Book Features New Hall ArchitectureThursday 17th November 2011The iconic buildings of New Hall, now Murray Edwards College, are to be featured in a soon to be published book, Chamberlin, Powell and Bon by Elain Harwood. A RIBA publication, with support from The Twentieth Century Society and English Heritage, this book explores this pioneering practise of post-war British architects. Chamberlin, Powell and Bon, produced a range of buildings that pushed concrete technology to its limits, including the Golden Lane Estate and its neighbouring Barbican complex. The buildings of New Hall are another supreme example of their work. The architecture of Chamberlin, Powell and Bon is now recognised as among the most significant of the 1960s and this book tells their story. It will be published in late December.
